THE PRODUCT: The antique is a exquisite archaic Wenshu Bodhisattva statue of wood carving seated gesture on Kylin from China.Although passed many years,the colors in the surface had partially brushed off.But it still can be said as a masterpiece in Chinese wood carvings.The statue is excellent condition.I can find no chips,cracks,or other visible damage.It is excellent specimen: a work of both artistic merit and spiritual value.The Kwan-yin is wonderful example of the skill and artisty of the Chinese woodcarvers.Guaravteed to be as described and shown WENSHU BODHISATTVA (Bodhisattva of Wisdom or Manjusri) Wenshu or Bodhisattva of Wisdom is also regarded as one of the four well-known Bodhisattvas in China's buddhism. It is said that Wutai Mountain in shanxi Province is the place where he performs the Buddhist rites. He is the left attendant of Sakyamuni who is in charge of wisdom. He has five hair buns on his head, with sword in his hand, symbolizing wisdom. He is often shown riding a lion representing wisdom, power and vigour.
