Brief Introduction on the Principle Circuit of the Test System: The low-PD AC test transformer system is including the low voltage switchgear, the regulating transformer, the compensation reactor, the loss-pass filter, the protective resistor, the capacitance divider (also used for coupling capacitor), the rapid switch-off unit, the console and the measuring system (including AC measurement and PD measuring device). The part with * can be deleted considering the customer’s requirement. The test transformer can be a single one or a cascade of several transformers. For PD measurement, the transformer is designed with low-PD level. There is only less than 5 pC with rated voltage and less than 3 pC with 80% rated voltage. The regulating transformer can be contact type, induced type or with a booster transformer. The low-pass filter can decrease the harmonics and suppressing high frequency noise signals. The rapid switch-off unit is used for short-circuit the input terminal of the transformer; limit the energy flow, to protect the transformer with the test object is breakdown. The console is based PLC with friendly human-machine interface, the operator can easily handle the machine. The control data transmission is based optical-fiber. The test procedure can be automated by the program.
