Latin Name: Citrus aurantium L. Synonyms: Immature Bitter Orange extract; Citrus sinensis Osbeck extract Botany: Citrus aurantium, belonging to the family Rutaceae, is widely distributed in China. It is also known as bitter orange. In Chinese, it is called zhishi. Many varieties of bitter orange are utilized for their essential oil, which is used in perfume and as a flavoring.
