1. EXSOFT Digital Language Laboratory EX-330 introduction Breakthrough design in the field of classroom language and reading instruction. In the past, many educators’ dreams of new classroom technology have been stymied by a plethora of concerns voiced by their administrators. The most often heard concerns are now answered and quelled by the EX-330 a new system that has the features you need at a price any school can afford. EXSOFT Digital Language Laboratory EX-330 is including the console software for teacher and the terminal hardware for student. The console software for teacher is need to be installed inside the computer, the computers are connected by Ethernet to all students terminal. EX-330 is a digital full-functional audio comparative system which consists of the hardware component –students’ stations and also software component – management software for language learning system. Both parts are supplied as one complete kit. It is a digital lab that does not use student computers. 2. Major Features of EXSOFT Digital Language Lab "EX-330" • Operation on standard Ethernet network via TCP/IP protocol • All audio courses, teaching materials, students’ records and results of students’ learning progress are saved in the database at teacher’s computer. The database may be located at a separate server with access of all classes which are equipped with EX-330 • Support of simultaneous broadcasting from 8 digital and up to 5 analogue programs • Teaching modes: Group Talk, Talk in Pairs, All Call, Intercom, Monitoring, Scanning, Model Imitating etc. • To evaluate the students’ learning progress, teacher can select Listening, Reading, and Pronunciation Modes with automatic answers collection and results processing. There is a possibility to record a student’s voice. • Tests results are displayed in form of tables, graphs and diagrams • In Study Hall Mode students can obtain access to database of materials, located at teacher’s computer • Teacher can set up to 100 bookmarks on any record • Teacher can record his voice and voice of any selected student in real time and also sound from other external devices • User-friendly interface • Automatic software update available 3.Teacher console software of the EXSOFT Digital Language Lab "EX-330" a. The “All call” function is illustrated by a microphone symbol. . All Call is the default setting after the system is turned on. The teacher can speak to all the students of class at the same time (teachers cannot hear the students). If a student calls the teacher, the teacher can answer the student by pressing the “Call answer” button. If the teacher wants to view a student’s attendance, they can press the “Attendance” button. b. The “Self-learning” function is illustrated by a “capped student” symbol. . The teacher can place students into the self-learning mode after selecting the self-learning button within the system function menu. Teacher clicks on each student to be placed in the self-learning group or “rubber banding” a selected group of students. Teacher can use the “Monitor” or “Scan & Monitor” functions. c. The “Monitor” function is illustrated by a “doughnut” symbol. The teacher can choose which student they want to monitor by clicking the selected student position. The teacher can hear the content of the program the student is hearing. d. Scan & Monitor: The system can be set to monitor each of the students automatically. Teacher can set the direction of scan (right to left, left to right, horizontally or randomly) and adjust time duration of scanning via the system settings. e. The “Intercom” function is illustrated by a “dual arrow” symbol. The teacher can select between one student to as many as eight students to talk with. If the teacher wants to allow their conversation to become a “model” for the whole class he/she can press the “Model” button. f. The selected “Model” student is displayed as three hexagons. . The Model Group Participants are shown as shaking hands. The teacher can choose between one and eight students to be the “model” for the class. When the model student is talking to the teacher, other Model Group Participants and the class can listen to their conversation. g. Calling students are displayed by a telephone symbol. Teachers can respond by pressing the “Call answer” button. The calling order is set automatically by the system (calling line). h. Call clear: Clear all student calls. i. Simultaneous interpretation. Click on “SIMUL” and the following window will appear. j. The recording symbol is displayed as thumbnail. The teacher can choose to record a single student or all students. The teacher can select the source the students hear from the menu shown. k. Turning the student panels on: The teacher can turn on any or all student panels. Teachers first select the “student on” key and then click on each student position they want to turn on. The whole class can be turned on by “rubber banding” all student positions. l. Turning the student panels off: The teacher can turn off any or all student panels. Teachers first select the “student off” key and then click on each student position they want to turn off. The whole class can be turned off by “rubber banding” all student positions. m. The teacher can select the structure of the group. Selections include two’s, three’s and four’s. The teacher can select the paired partners; n. Recording student attendance: The teacher first selects the “attendance” key then records the attendance status of the class.   4. Student terminal of the EXSOFT DLL "EX-330" Students’ stations. They are specialized microcomputers with integrated OS Linux, which are protected from computer viruses. The stations are panels in cut in the table surface. • EX-330 is fully digitized language lab terminal, which is placed in each student booth allowing students access to digitized programs transferred from the teacher computer. • Features of Student terminal o Fully digital device with easy-to-use interface. Recording and playback of digital programs only. Option of playback speed change without timbre modification available. Function “listening-recording-comparison” (AAC standard). Waterproof touch flat panel. Stereo reproduction (left and right tracks). 100 bookmarks of digital bookmarks can be saved. Phases repetition. LCD monitor, showing program number, exam number, count down, volume position and counter etc. 16 levels volume adjustable. Support IP-telephone mode o Controls. Attend: Students can switch the EX-3 on or off by pressing this button. Call: Calling teacher button. Edit: Programmable seat setting (the seat designation is entered in program mode) Bookmark: Setting bookmarks. IP PHONE: IP telephone. In free mode, press the IP phone button and choose the student you want to communicate with, then press the enter button to be connected with your partner. Cancel: Press the cancel button to return to the previous window. USB interface: If a USB key is inserted the student can upload or download information. o “Self-learning” mode. Once the teacher has placed the student panel into “self-learning” mode the student can access the following functions: AOD (Audio on Demand) Press the next button to choose AOD, press the “enter” button to select an audio program. When listening to audio programs the student can adjust the volume by pressing the left-right button. Digitally Sstored Programs. Students can choose from four digitally stored Programs (Program1, Program2, Program3, and Program 4). Student Record: Press the record button to enter the recording mode. There are three recording options. 1) Record file (audio), playing back and responding to a pre-recorded file. 2) Record student microphone only. 3) AAC recording – the student listens to a master stimulus (program) and responds. Both the teacher program and the student voice are recorded on separate tracks (stereo) and saved in one file. Selection of the recording mode is accomplished via the student panel. 5. Other equipment of the EXSOFT DLL "EX-330" Power supply. LP-301/40 or LP-301/60 (optional). It is applied for secure low-voltage power supply up to 40 (model LP-301/40) or up to 60 (LP-301/60) students’ stations. It is not needed in the number of students’ stations does not exceed 8. Network switch - Ethernet 100/1000 for CAT cables with RJ45 slots Headphones. Light insulating stereo headphones with comfortable soft ear pads and microphone.
