The main product of Tonghe, compound dihydroartemisinin （trade name: Artecom）is one of the two artemisinin-based anti-malarial compound drugs.
Artecom overcomes the problem of high recrudescence rate of artemisin. If artemisin is used solely in malaria treatment, the drug’s action will be rapid, but the effect would last short time. This problem had being an unsolved difficulty in malaria treatment till the dihydroartemisinin compound being innovated.
