Nickel batteries charging, discharging, service life, self-discharge and temperature property Charge property The voltage of Ni-Cd and Ni-MH battery goes up during charging, and at charging terminal stage, as battery inner temperature rising, the voltage will fall down and finally reach to balance state. The battery is normally charged at constant current for a defined time: 0.1C5A for 14-16 hours, 0.2 C5A for 7 hrs, 0.3 C5A for 4.5hrs, 0.5 C5A for 2.5 hrs, 1 C5A for 1.2hrs (Please contact with us if the designed charge current is over 0.5 C5A, C5 is battery capacity). Discharge property Discharge capacity changes according to discharge current. The smaller discharge current, the more capacity be discharged, vise versa. The capacity is also influenced by environmental temperature and the end voltage. The rated capacity means the capacity when battery is discharged at 0.2 C5A to end voltage of 0.1V/cell at the environmental temperature of 20℃±5℃. Service life property As the working conditions and environmental is different, it is difficult to show batteries accurate service life. Under normal condition, it is expected to be 500-1000 cycles. Self-discharge property At 20℃, average self-discharge rate of the under charging battery is less than 0.8% per day. The higher the temperature, the bigger the self-discharge rate, so should be avoid high temperature environment when store the batteries for a long time. Discharge temperature property Discharge conditions: single cell discharged at 0.C to 1.0V. Suitable temperature range for discharge is -40℃~+50℃.
