When it's time to hit the high seas, you'll want to make sure you're equipped with the Garmin Fishfinder 340C with Dual Frequency Transducer. Featuring a brilliant 12-square-inch 256-color TFT display and an ultra-dim backlight mode of nighttime viewing, the Fishfinder 340C makes the job of reading the sonar displays as easy as it gets.
The Fishfinder 340C is enabled with Garmin's new CANet -- a one-megabit Controller Area Network that allows users to connect their unit to one of the new GPSMAP-series chartplotters. This allows boaters to read sonar displays on chartplotters located elsewhere in the boat and even adjust the settings from the plotter. Enhanced software features in the 340C include drift alarm, timers, and a temperature log that graphically records water temperature data. A new AutoGain technology allows users to see more fish, while an enhanced sounder design offers excellent shallow water performance. Garmin's See-Thru technology shows weak and strong returns simultaneously, and the Fishfinder 340C includes both 2x and 4x automatic and manual zoom.
For maximum saltwater performance, the Fishfinder 340C is configured with a dual frequency (50kHz/45-degrees, 200kHz/10-degrees) plastic transom mount transducer, for depth readings of up to 1,500 feet, and an attached 30-foot cable.
This compact unit measures 6.3 x 6.2 x 3.1 inches (WxHxD) and comes pre-loaded with over 15 user-interface languages and alarms for fish size, shallow water, deep water and low battery.
Note: Garmin also offers the Fishfinder 340C with a Dual Beam configuration for freshwater use.
