Standard Shot Used for general excavating. Typically used on loaders and graders. Good for pry-out work, such as concrete or asphalt removal. Standard Long Used for general excavation, typically in sand or clay soil. The standard long tooth is the most popular of all designs and represents approximately 65% of the market consumption. Use mostly on loaders and excavators Heavy duty Long Used in both loader and excavating and loader applications, but mostly found on loaders, This popular design is found in quarry operations, as well as sand and gravel where longer life is expected. Abrasion This is an old retired CAT design, but still used in some markets. We recommend the heavy duty abrasion tooth as a replacement. Heavy duty abrasion The HD abrasion tool is primarily used as loader GET and is popular in quarry operations, as well as sand and gravel operations. This tooth has considerable more wear material on the bottom side, where there is contact with the surface on a consistent basis. Penetration The penetration tooth is designed for more severe excavation projects, such as rock and shale. Rock Chisel The rock chisel design was pioneered by Hensley as a multi-purpose tooth. Used in both general excavating and moderate rock applications, this tooth puts itself in the class of “ self sharpen”. Rock penetrator The rock penetrator was designed by Hensley, as an alternative to the CAT? Style HD long and HD abrasion tooth. It also is considered a “self sharpening” tooth due to its design. Long wear design features. Very popular in quarries. SYL This design was inspired by ESCO and is used primarily in the Canadian market and select US regions. For clean up jobs. For general purpose we recommend Grade 2 which is both strong and wear long. For Grade 1 material, we reduce the alloy composition,therefore the wear life is 2/3 of Grade 2. And our Grade 3 is ESCO material which wear 1.3 times of Grade 2.
