Its R&D base is the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the top scientific research institution in China, which covers 168 acres. It has a collection of 1.2 million copies of plant specimens and is equipped with superconducting NMR 400 MHz and 500 MHz, high resolution mass spectrometer(HRMS), speeding refrigerated centrifuge, laser scanning confocal microscopy and other large and medium-sized modern equipments. It has 235 research personnels, of whom 11 are the CAS academicians, 31 researchers, and 42 research fellows.
