　DSL-1G is a new kind of handheld test set with the international advanced technology that can offer the ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ testing. Network Layer testing The Network Layer testing can check out the fault point conveniently. In addition, it can process the testing at different point (ADSL and Ethernet access point). So it can check out whether the ADSL terminal unit is out of work or the customers' computers. The Network Layer testing includes the Dial testing and the PING testing. Dial testing（PPPoE or DHCP） Dial testing can validate the connectivity between the subscriber and the ISP. There are two kinds of dial modes according to the different testing modes: 1) Directly dialing: Connect the tester and telephone line, run the PPPoE dialing programme to obtain IP address through ADSL MODEM+PC. 2) Simulated PC dialing: Connect the tester and the LAN access point of ADSL modem, then the tester starts the dial programme to process the PPPoE or DHCP dialing through ADSL modem to obtain IP address. PING testing ( IP PING and Domain PING included, static IP PING supported) ADSL PING: Obtain IP address through dialing, static IP configuration and the gateway address.It can process the PING testing. So it can validate the connectivity between the subscriber and the ISP. PC PING testing: Obtain IP address through simulated PC dialing, tatic IP configuration and the gateway address. It can process the PING testing. So it can validate whether the ADSL terminal unit is out of work or the customers' computers. LAN PING testing: Local Area Network PING testing, process the PING testing to the nodes in LAN and check out the trouble computer in LAN in time.
