Tonkin bamboo, also known as bamboo cane and pseudosasa amabilis (McGLure) kengf, its General height is over 10 meters, rough 1-5 cm diameter, and the largest up to 8 cm. Bamboo is a perennial and gramineous plant which is climatically adaptable, cryophylactic, but more suitable to live in warm, humid, sunny environment. It must grow in thick, soft, acid and sandy earth that is full of organic matter and mineral, with an altitude of 150-700 meters.

It is used to making desk, chair, bookshelf, fencing, bird cage, fish pole, bird house, basket, bamboo picture, bamboo shade, flowerpot, and as materials for building, gardening and papermaking. It is mainly exported to Europe, the United States , Australia , Holland etc., more than forty countries.
