Automatic sampling measurement The controller has a big LCD display screen and will collect metering information in the mechanical water meter automatically. The measurement of every group of valid pulse collected is 0.1 ton. 2. Prepayment Function When water is purchased and the water purchase card is ed into the controller, the controller will display the water volume just purchased and then communicates with the meter and add it to the remaining water volume in the meter. The water meter will cumulate the newly purchased water volume to the remaining water volume in the meter and transmit both the renewed remaining water volume and cumulative water usage volume to the controller. The LCD will firstly display the current useable water volume and then the accumulative usable volume on the controller. 3. Alarm Function When the remaining water volume reaches the preset alarming value, the meter will automatically close the valve and cuts off water supply. Inserting the water purchase card into the controller could activate the controller to send command to the meter to open the valve again and resume water supply, while the LCD screen will display water purchase reminder. 4. Close Valve and Stop Water Supply The water meter has overdrawn function. When the remaining water volume is used up, the meter will not close the valve but will automatically be in overdrawn mode. When the remaining volume equals to the overdrawn limit, the meter will close the valve. If overdrawn value is set at zero, it means the overdrawn function is not valid. Therefore, when the remaining water volume is zero, the meter will automatically close up the valve. 5. Information Checking 5.1 Checking water balance: Insert the inquiry card into the controller and the controller will send command to the meter to transfer current remaining water volume and cumulative used water volume for display on the LCD screen. 5.2 Checking water meter information: Insert the inquiry card into the controller to check the current working status and command the valve of the controller to complete a reverse direction movement once. The LCD will display, in sequence, current remaining water volume, cumulative consumed water volume, this months consumed water volume, last months consumed water volume, current date and current time 6. Withdrawal Function When the withdrawal card is ed into the water meter, the controller will send command to the meter and transfer the remaining water volume data to the controller and also input it into the withdrawal card. The meter will, at the same time, reset the remaining water volume to zero and close the valve to stop water supply to the user. 7. Transferring Data of Damaged Water Meter When there is problem with a water meter, one can use a transfer card to transfer the data from the broken water meter to a new one. After data transfer, the remaining water volume in the broken water meter will be reset to become zero and the valve will be closed. 8. Abnormal Measurement If the valve malfunctions and cannot be closed, the meter will cumulate the amount of water overdrawn. In the next water purchase, the meter can automatically deduct the overdrawn amount. 9. One-Card-One-Meter The account registration card contains water meter information including meter serial number. When the account registration card is ed into the controller, the controller will use the water meter serial number as address and transmit the first water purchase information to the corresponding meter for data processing and data storage. This completes the setting up of a one-to-one corresponding relationship between the water purchase card and the meter. The meter will not recognize and accept any other water purchase cards but the controller can still do so. 10. One Controller For Many Water Meters In order to save the costs and for the convenience of users, one can use one controller to control several water meters. The account registration card can control the setting up of corresponding relationship with different meters through the meter serial numbers. The meter will processing and store relevant data and the respective account card controls only its corresponding meter and not others. This is usually used in public areas. 11. Fix the water volume timely / Fixed time freezes the function The controller has a real time clock. At 24:00 hours on the last day of every month, the clock will automatically perform data communication with the meter, and notify the meter to freeze the monthly water consumption volume. 12. Anti- magnetism interference function When strong magnetic interference affects normal sampling, the controller will automatically record the interference status and frequency and close the valve to stop water supply. After the user s card, the controller and water meter communicate with each other and the magnetic interference signal will be displayed on the controllers LCD screen. 13. Low Voltage Reminder and Valve-Off Function Both the water meter and the controller are powered by lithium battery and they manage battery voltage test respectably based on the same principle. The controller and the meter discharge power every 12 days to test battery voltage. When the battery voltage of the controller is below 3.0v, the controller will send command to the meter to close valve and the LCD will display the reminder of controller low on voltage. If the meters voltage is below 3.0v, it will also close the valve. When user s card to the meter, the controller and water meter will perform data communication and the LCD displays water meter low on voltage. At that time, the meter opens the valve and resumes water supply. However, the valve will be closed completely in 30 days. The user can only replace the battery to resume use of water. The test of battery voltage comes in two rounds. For the first round, power discharge is 8 seconds, after which there will be 5 tests consecutively (the real discharge time is 12 seconds). After the first test is completed, it will repeat for the second time with 10 seconds delay. Depending on the test result, a third round of tests may be carried out with another 10 seconds delay. If the first rounds testing result is high voltage, the second round of testing will be conducted. If the second rounds result is also high voltage, the battery voltage is considered normal and the third round of testing will not be required. The third round of testing is only needed when low voltage is detected during the second round. If the result is high voltage for the third round, the battery voltage is considered normal. If however, low voltage is detected, then it will signal the need to change battery and close the valve. When the first rounds testing result shows low voltage, the second round of testing will still be conducted. If the low voltage result persists in the second round, it will signal the need to change battery and close valve. If the second rounds result is high voltage, the third round will be carried out. Battery voltage test will only be conducted by discharging power at fixed testing interval of every 12 days. No other battery tests will be performed. 14. Valve Self-Diagnostic Function Under operating mode, the water meter automatically opens and closes the valve once every 15 days to avoid the valve from building up scale and getting blocked. When such valve movement coincides with the battery voltage testing schedule, battery voltage testing will not be conducted.
