Operating Cost Advantages of Electric Forklifts
China [CN] Studies have proven that electric forklifts are cheaper to operate and maintain than IC forklifts. Over their lifetime, electric forklifts cost less to fuel, require less maintenance because they have fewer moving parts, require fewer fluid changes (such as engine oil, coolant and filters) and lose significantly less time to maintenance downtime and breakdowns.
For example, one regional study found that charging an electric forklift can cost between $1.50 and $4.50 per eight-hour shift, while operating a liquefied propane gas (LPG) lift can cost between $18 and $25 per filled bottle. These rates depend on location, but it is clear that the energy consumption costs of electric forklifts are much lower.
