From February 24 to 28 this year, on the eighth Machine Tool Exhibition sponsored by the China Machine Tool Industry Association, more than 900 machine tool and tool manufacturers from home and abroad showed their products together. Dalian machine tool group exhibited a new type of cnc hard turning lathes, which is an intelligent manufacturing island, consists of a processing center and a robot. According to the staff, a worker could only take care of one machine tool in the past, and now a worker can take care of 8-10 intelligent manufacturing islands.
 
Speaking of feelings about the exhibition, a business representative from Heilongjiang exhibitors says: “Facing the new situation of the market, the machine tool industry must speed up the industrial structure adjustment forwardly, and weed out low value-added products. Enterprises should also regard the market competitiveness of high-grade products as one of core goal in transformation and upgrading insistently, and speed up breakthroughs in core technologies for the accuracy of product recognized by users on reliability, stability and reliability.”
 
As the “engine” and “heart” of the industry and national economy, machine tool manufacturing industry is a concrete manifestation of a country’s comprehensive national strength. At present, China is already become a big world machine tool production and demand country, but most of national machine tools are common, the coverage rate of  numerical control is low. In 2013, China’s imports of machine is about $11 billion, dropped 23.62% year on year, China's imported quantity was about 102,532 units, dropped 33.34% year on year, China’s average price of imported machine is about $107304.22, rose 14.57% year on year. The overall trend is the decrease of the quantity and the increase of the price, which reflects that China’s market demand structure is optimizing all the time and the demand for high-end machine tool is increasing continuously. On the other hand, China’s quality of high-end machine tool products, technology indicators, technological level, customer service, etc. cannot effectively meet customers’ need.
 
“Affected by the research capability, China’s 80% of mid-range CNC system, 90% of high-grade CNC system and 85% of high-end CNC machine tools are depended on importing from abroad.” the principal analyst of Jin Mo Steel Website, Luo Baihui says. Compared with German, Japan and America’s advanced enterprises, the machine tool enterprises in China still exist a certain gap.
