Thallium doped cesium iodide, CsI(TI), is one of the brightest scintillators, has wide application in nuclear radiation detection, high energy physics, x-ray baggage inspection etc. Its maximum emission peak was at 550nm, matched well with photodiode, the read-out system can be simplified significantly as a results of this.
