PAs also give flavour and astringency to beverages such as wine, fruit juices and teas, and have been increasingly recognised as having beneficial effects on human health due to a wide range of biological and pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, anti-tumoural, and antigenotoxic.
