Uses
1. Silicon and oxygen is easy to combine in silica, so it is often used in steelmaking as deoxidizer.
2. Meanwhile, when generating SiO2 , lots of heat is given off. So it is helpful to raising the liquid steel temperature when deoxidizing.
3. And the ferrosilicon also can be additives of alloying elements , that is widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel.
Ferrosilicon is often used as reducing agent in iron alloy production and chemical industry.
