Description of rotary kiln: Cement rotary kiln is mainly used to calcine cement clinker, which can be divided into dry and wet method. Rotary kiln is rotary calcining kiln, which belongs to building material equipment. According to different materials it processes, it can be divided into cement kiln, metallurgy chemical kiln and lime kiln. The kiln bucket is the heating rotary component, which is made from premium steel. The body of bucket is installed on the supporting device of 2-7 gear flipping or rolling bearing through tire. There are also mechanical or hydraulic catch wheel on one or more supporting devices to control the bucket’s axial movement. The gearing drives the bucket body to rotate as demanded speed through the gear ring installed in the middle of the body. In order to make the installation and repairing easy, the larger kiln has an auxiliary gearing to enable that the bucket can rotate at a low speed. For the sake of preventing cold air entering into the bucket and smoke and powder going out of the bucket, there are stable top and tail sealing device at the feeding and discharging parts respectively. Thermometry and sample- taking hole are arranged on the bucket. Manometry element is designed on the cover of the top. As for larger kiln, infrared thermometry device can be installed to monitor the temperature of the body. The technical performance and operating condition determines the quality, productivity and cost of corporate products to a great extent. In the applications of rotary kiln, the equipment is most widely used in cement industry. The entire producing process of cement can be summarized to “two grindings vs. one burning” in which “one burning” is the process of burning the grinded raw material into clinker through high temperature function of rotary kiln. Therefore, rotary kiln is essential in cement production, i.e. the heart of cement factories. 3. In building material industry, rotary kiln is not only used to calcine cement clinker, it can also be applied to calcine clay, limestone and dry slag. In the production of fire-resistant materials, the application of rotary kiln to calcine raw materials can make materials to have uniform size and strengthened strength before they are made into final shape. 4. In mineral processing, after the magnetizing roast of lean iron ore, weak magnetism is turned into strong magnetism, which is helpful to make magnetic separation. 5. In chemical industry, rotary kiln can be used to produce soda, calcine phosphatic fertilizer and barium sulfide etc. At 1960s, LapPle in America invented the new technique of producing phosphoric acid using rotary kiln. This method has the advantages of low energy and power consumption, nonuse of sulfuric acid and using of medium and low grade phosphorite. 6. As for the aspect of environmentally friendliness, developed countries in the world already have a history of more than 20 years of burning dangerous materials in rotary kiln.
