The plastic structured packing: 1) The KAITE 125. X, 125. Y, 250. X and 250. Y (further types on requests) are also available in different kinds of thermoplastics 2) Materials: Polypropylene (PP), postchlorated polyvinylchloride (PVC-C), polyvinylide-nedifluoride (PVDF) 3) The plastic versions of KAITE have proved operational record in various types of absorption and desorption columns Special features: 1) Large number of transfer units per meter, low HTU, depending on the systems 2) Small pressure drop per meter packed height 3) Most economical load range up to F factor 3Pa 4) Maximum operating temperatures: A) About 110 for PP B) About 150 for PVDF Product applicants: 1) HCL absorbers 2) SO2 absorbers 3) Flue gas cleaning 4) Sea water deaerator Gauze packing (KAITE plastic gauze packing, type BX): The plastic gauze packing has been used industrially with great success for many years. The special gauze structured provides a very good wettability, even in aqueous systems. The packing is used primarily for columns with low liquid loads. Special features: 1) Large number of transfer units per meter, low HTU, depending on the systems 2) Minimum pressure drop, typically 2 - 4mBar/m 3) Minimum liquid load approx. 0. 05m3/m2h 4) Self-wetting packing surface, even for aqueous solutions 5) Operating temperatures up to 80C, depending on the chemical components Preferred applications: 1) Small liquid loads 2) Increasing performance of existing columns 3) Columns with small overall height Product applicants: 1) Methanol absorbers 2) Isopropanol absorbers 3) Dimethyl formamide absorbers 4) Formaldehyde absorbers In the column the structured packing are put side by side, different levels are turned at 90C. The outer packing segments for a round column cross-section are precisely cut. In the case of PP-HT temperatures of approx. 100C are allowed for long term operation.
