Usage:
(1) the reaction of calcium carbide with water acetylene (CaC2 +2 H-OH → Ca (OH) 2 + CH ≡ CH ↑) many organic compounds can be synthesized, for example: synthetic rubber , synthetic resins, acetone, ketene, carbon black, etc. ; while acetylene-oxygen flame is widely used in metal welding and cutting.
(2) heating the powdered calcium carbide with nitrogen, the reaction of calcium cyanamide, namely lime nitrogen, heated lime nitrogen reacts with cyanide salt melt for gold mining and non-ferrous metals industry .
(3) can be used in the steel industry itself carbide desulfurization agent.
