Rare earth classification
Physical and chemical properties
Based on the electronic structure of the rare earth elements and the chemical and physical properties, and their mineral of the communist party of China born and different ionic radius can produce different properties, the characteristics of the 17 kinds of rare earth elements are usually divided into two groups:
Light rare earths include: lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium, gadolinium.
Heavy rare earths including terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium and lutetium, scandium. [3]
Mineral characteristics
(light rare earth cerium group), lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium, promethium, samarium, europium;
Yttrium group (heavy rare earths), gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium, erbium, thulium, ytterbium and lutetium and scandium. [4]
Sulfuric acid solubility
Cerium group (sulfuric acid double salt of refractory) - lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium and promethium;
Terbium group (sulfuric acid double salt slightly soluble), samarium, europium, gadolinium, terbium, dysprosium, holmium;
- europium, yttrium group (sulfuric acid double salt soluble), erbium, thulium, ytterbium and lutetium and scandium.
Extraction separation
Light rare earth weak acidity (P204 extraction), lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium, neodymium and promethium;
In rare earth (P204 low acidity extraction), samarium, europium, gadolinium,
