Package & Delivery Lead Time
Detailed Description
Description MC RTV1040 is a two component elastomer cross-linking at room temperature. The polymerization can be accelerated by heat (max.1500 C). The silicone components are delivered as liquids, which once mixed and cured transform into a transparent, elastic and resistant material. Polymerization occurs without formation of heat. Advantages 1. Easy curing: MC RTV1040 polymerizes at room temperature (230 C).The curing characteristics are independent of part thickness. 2. High Transparency 3. High tear and tensile strength 4. Long shelf life with low shrinkage 5. Fast mixing (10:1) and easy processing due to the low viscosity Applications Label manufacturing, Molding applications requiring low shrinkage eg toys, jewelers, automotive, rapid prototyping etc. Technical datasheet Item  RTV 1040 Color clear Curing agent CA30 Mixing ratio 100:10 Mixed viscosity 85000-90000 cps Working time 60 mins Curing time 12 Hours Hardness 40 Shore A Tear Strength 27 N/mm Tensile Strength 6 Mpa Shrinkage ≤0.1% Elongation at break 360% Relative density 1.1 g/cm3 Instructions 1. Make sure the surface of the original is clean and free of loose material. 2. Weight 100 Part A base and 2 parts of CA30 Curing Agent in a clean container. 3. Stir Part A base silicone before use thoroughly , as filler separation may occur upon prolonged storage. 4. Mix Part A and Part B evenly until the CA30 completely dispersed in the base. 5. Pour the mixed Part A base silicone and CA-30 curing agent as soon as possible onto the original 6. De-mold after 24 hours ,it is will improve the replicate times of silicone mold. Note:It is strongly recommended that entrapped air be removed in a vacuum chamber, allowing the mix to completely expand and then collapse. After a further 1-2 mins under vacuum, the mix should be inspected and can be used if free of air bubbles. A volume increase of 3-5 times will occur on vacuum de-airing the mixture. So a suitably large container should be chosen. Natrual rubbers vulcanized with sulphur RTV elastomers catalysed with metal salts,eg. Tin compounds PVC stabilized with tin salts and additives Epoxy catalysed with amines Certain organic solvents,eg. Ketones, alcohols, ether etc. In case of doubt,it is recommended to test the substrate by applying a small quantity of the mixed silicone on a restricted area. Storage and shelf life MC RTV1040 A and B must be used within 6 months from the manufacturing date. Beyoud this date,MC silicone no longer guarantees the products confirms with the sales Specification. In order to preserve best properties it is recommended to follow strictly the following guildlines: Store the original packing tightly sealed and at a temperature below 30 C Use the product as soon as the packaging has been opened. Packaging Part A: 20kg/drum Part B: 2 kg/drum Special containers are available are on request.
