Kudzu Extract
Botanical name: Pueraria lobata
Source: The root of Legume Pueraria lobata Ge (Willd.) Ohwi and P.thunbergiana Benth.

Pueraria is a genus of 15–20 species of plants native to Asia. Pueraria flower is used in traditional Chinese medicine to reduce reactions to alcohol consumption, and is undergoing scientific study for that use.
The genus is polyphyletic, with different species being related to species in Glycine (which includes soybean), Amphicarpaea, Nogra, Teyleria, Neonotonia, Pseudovigna, Pseudeminia, Pachyrhizus (which includes Jícama), and other genera of the tribe Phaseoleae.
Main function
With the microcirculation, dilation of blood vessels, increase coronary blood flow, lower blood pressure, slowing heart rate and reduce myocardial consumption with no significant negative inotropic effect and antiarrhythmic effects. USUAL DOSAGE
Dosages suggested by the 1985 Chinese Pharmacopoeia for the kudzu root are to take 9-15 grams daily during treatment. Doses of the kudzu standardized root tablets at 10 mg of weight per tablet, which is equal to about 1.5 grams of the crude root are used widely in the treatment of angina pectoris in patients. The equivalent dosage can be said to be about 30-120 mg of the root extract taken 2 - 3 times daily.
SIDE EFFECTS AND CAUTIONS
At the dosages recommended here, there have been no reports of kudzu toxicity in humans.
