Detailed Description
Hastelloy B-2(UNS N10665)Ni-Mo alloy
Hastelloy B-2's features and applications overview:
The carbon and silicon content of nickel-molybdenum alloys is very low, which reduces the phase precipitation of the carbon and other impurities of the weld heat affected zone, so the weld having a sufficient corrosion resistance. Hastelloy B-2 has good corrosion resistance in reducing medium, such as a variety of temperature and concentrations of hydrochloric acid. It also has a very good corrosion resistance in sulfuric acid solution of moderate concentration( or contains a certain amount of chlorine ions). At the same time it can be used in acetic acid and phosphoric acid environment.Only in appropriate metallographic state and pure crystal structure can alloy material have the best corrosion resistance. It has a wide range of applications in the chemical, petrochemical, energy and pollution control field, especially in the industry, such as sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, etc.

The metallurgical structure of Hastelloy B-2:
Hastelloy B-2 is of the face-centered cubic lattice structure. By controlling the content of iron and chromium at the minimum, the processing brittleness is reduced, and Ni4Mo's phase precipitation during 700-870 °C is prevented.
The process performance and requirements of Hastelloy B-2:
1, Should be rapidly heated to the required temperature. The range of thermal processing is 1160°C~900°C.
2,The average size of the grain size of the alloy is closely related to the forging deformation degree and the final forging temperature.
3, The adhesion of the oxide, oxidation color on Alloy's surface and the welding slag around the weld is stronger than those of stainless steel. For grinding, the fine crystal sand belt or fine grained grinding wheel is recommended.
4, The Alloy should be machined after annealing. Due to the high work-hardening rate of the material, the cutting speed should be lower than that of processing low alloy standard austenitic stainless steel and heavy feed is recommended for processing. So the surface of the cold hardening can be cut in.
