Detailed Description
KAWASAKI HOT MELT Glue Stick Clear are made from a general purpose translucent flexible hot melt in a stick form for use with standard type of glue guns. KAWASAKI HOT MELT Glue Stick Clear in conjunction with a glue guns, provide an instant, fast, clean and versatile bond between a myriad of household and craft materials. They are made from a translucent/clear and flexible hot melt adhesive suitable for many porous materials.
RECOMMENDED USES
KAWASAKI HOT MELT Glue Stick Clear are ideal for lightweight DIY, hobby, craft work, home decor projects and for minor household repairs. In conjunction with a glue gun, provide an instant bond for most craft and household materials including, fabric, wood, leather, most plastics, polystyrene, and ceramics. Good in applications where “bond line appearance” is important.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
• Once heated and gunned out, provide instant adhesion
• Adhesive is clear and flexible when dry.
• Fast, clean and versatile.
• High strength bond
• Non toxic, no fumes
• Very low odor
• No wastage as it’s a solid adhesive
• Long shelf life
• Adheres to most craft and household materials
Surface Preparation
• Ensure surfaces to be bonded are clean, dry and free from grease, oil and other foreign materials. If necessary, wipe plastic and metal surfaces with lighter fluid and allow drying.
• For non-porous surfaces such as metal, if possible pre-warm substrate to at least 90°C as higher bond strengths will be achieved.
• Insert glue stick gently through tunnel at back of gun. Never use excessive force as the glue stick will clog the channel.
• Plug cord into an electrical outlet and wait 5 minutes to heat up the glue. Ensure glue is hot or glue will not extrude through the gun.
Application:
• Apply adhesive by gentle continuous pressure to the more difficult surface to bond (usually smooth surfaces are more difficult to adhere than rough, porous surfaces).
• Release trigger to stop flow of glue.
• Glue does not need to be spread. Do not touch molten adhesive, as temperatures around 200°C will cause serious burns.
• Join surfaces as quickly as possible for optimum bond strength.
• To bond foam products such as polystyrene foam to another surface, apply adhesive in an “S” pattern to the surface to which the foam will be bonded, rather than directly to the foam.
• To bond fabrics, use a smaller “S” pattern for additional strength.
• Small drops of glue can be easily removed when cold.
• Residual glue can be remelted and removed from most bonded surfaces with a warm knife.
• When you have finished using the gun, switch off and unplug it.
• Allow the glue stick to remain in the gun – do not remove stick from rear of gun at any time.
LIMITATIONS
• Do not allow the nozzle tip of the heated gun to make contact with any surface as it may cause damage.
• Hot molten glue may damage some surfaces.
• Do not leave gun unattended and unplug cord when not in use.
• Children should only use the gun under adult supervision.
• Do not use the gun in damp or wet conditions or expose it to rain.
• Never put any object in the gun other than the glue sticks recommended
