Introduction:
Tribulus terrestris is a plant that grows in many tropical and moderate areas of the world. It was traditionally used by the Greeks as a diuretic, mild laxative, and general tonic. In India, Tribulus is widely recommended in Ayurvedic rejuvenative formulas, particularly in the treatment of sexual dysfunction. For all its therapeutic and adaptogenic effects, the most common cross-cultural use of Tribulus has been in the treatment of infertility in women, impotence in men, and for increasing the libido of both sexes. The Chinese used it for a variety of liver, kidney, and cardiovascular diseases. Recently, the fitness enhancing benefits of Tribulus have been brought to the attention of the athletic and body building industries.
Key Active Ingredients:
The extract of the powdered root contains an alkaloid, resins, nitrates and fixed Oils. The fruit contains 5% of a semidrying oil, peroxides, and diastase, traces of a glycoside resin, proteins and inorganic matter. The protein fraction (estimated as 10.85 %) contains 14 amino acids 6 of which are essential amino acids. The stems are, rich in starch, fructose and sucrose. On alcohol ether extraction an instable, water soluble compound, probably acardiac glycoside - has been isolated. The carboline alkaloids, harmine, harmaline and 2 more alkaloids, Harman and tetrahydroharmine have been, isolated. Steroidal saponins, mainly furostanol glycosides have been isolated. Hecogenin, containing protodioscin and protogracilin has been identified. Terrestrioside-F is another saponin isolated.
Functions:

2. It is used as anti-inflammatory & anti-arthritis.
3. It is used in building immune system.
4. Improves and prolongs the duration of erection.
5. It exerts a stimulating effect on spermatogenesis by increasing the number of spermatozoa and their mobility.
6. Indicated for endocrines ovarian sterility, menopausal and induced menopausal syndrome.
7. Production of follicle-stimulating hormone and estradiol are increased to stimulate reproduction function in women.
Dosage:
Most experts recommend experimenting with 750 to 1,250 mg per day, divided among meals.
Safety:
As for side effects, about one in ten people have associated some gastrointestinal upset with taking Tribulus terrestris. Taking food with it can minimize these effects if you are that one in ten.
