N&D 1K Basecoat metallic colors The paint is made by diverse types of ameliorative weather resistant resins,the high quality basecoat is with good hiding power,excellent metallic effect and easy to apply.Available in solid,silver and pearl colors.Its outstanding adhesive force and interlaminated tightness lay a solid foundation for the physical properties of finishing clear coat. Substrate The old paint film after wet sanding with 1000 # sandpaper and remove the oil stains,or coated the S-708 2K intermediate base paint surface,or coated 1K surfacer and soft partition primer. Not suitable Substrate Bare iron 、raw aluminium,wood and plastic surface Surface Cleaning Remove wax,silicon, and other contaminations with degreaser Mixing Ratio （1: 08） ＜15℃ N&D 1K basecoat 100 parts SX-1K fast dry thinner 80-100 parts 15--30℃ N&D 1K basecoat 100 parts SX-1B standard thinner 80-100 parts ＞30℃ N&D 1K basecoat 100 parts SX-1M slow dry thinner 80-100 parts No.of Coats 2-3 coats,total 15-25um Flash-off Time At 25℃, 5-10 minutes between coats. Place about 15-20 minutes after spraying then spray clear coat. Spray gun and pressure Gravity gun(up pot).2 – 1.5 mm 2-4 kg/CM2 Siphon gun (down pot)1.4 – 1.7 mm 2-4 kg/CM2 Final interval 10-20 minutes,20℃ Re-coat Could be re-coated with N&D 100S or N&D 300S. Shelf life Above 2 years in original sealed can in cool and dry place at 20℃ Packing 1Litre,3.75Litre Note: If the existing finish is not compatible, 2K primer surfacer should be used as a sealing layer before applying the basecoat otherwise there may be problems such as lifting,peeling,blistering ,flooding,etc. At temperature over 30℃ or in high humidity, it is recommended to use N&D Retarded Solvent to avoid mottling. Because of the high transparency of metallic basecoat, the primer surfacer shoulder be in consistent color and flat without any sand scratches,grain,or unevenness so as to prevent defects of mottling, poor metallic effected. To avoid problems of mottling or poor adhesion, the metallic paint film should not be thicker than 25 um. Better effect could be achieved if the extra silver powder could be removed with dishcloth after coat every layer and flash dry.
