Product name:TL101 How does the Intense Plused Light (IPL) works? The Xenon flash lamps of the IPL machine provide a flat, broad spectrum, from UV-to-Visible- to-IR. By taking advantage of the interaction between light and tissue. Most light is absorbed by chromophores in the skin-melanin (hair, hair follicles and epidermis),oxy-hemoglobin (blood) and water. This absorption converts the light into heat. The absorption rate is wave- length and chr omophore dependent. Hair Removal: The plused light targets melanin, the chromophore contained in hair and hair follicles. Light absorption rapidly elevates the temperature above 70C--the temperature at which follicles are destroyed--to prevent further hair re-growth. Skin Rejuvenation: Collagen growth is stimulated by the light and application of proprietary creams. Small vessels and pigmented lesions collapse when heated up to 70C--thereby reducing the number of artifacts on and under the skin.
