Detailed Description
Product Description With the smart, stylish 6270, Nokia is throwing its weight around in the popular slider phone category. And that's a good thing. This phone brings Nokia's legendary fit and finish to a design that's compact and powerful. With a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, expandable miniSD memory, a music player, and much more, the 6270 packs a major punch. And now it's available in stylish brown. Design The 6270 is all Nokia, with the classic clean lines and sleek shape. The phone's sliding design features a hidden dialpad that slides out when you need to dial a number. Vital phone functions are controlled by the button pad below the screen. The massive, 240 x 320 display supports up to 262,000 colors -- plenty of resolution and color depth for your videos and photos. The phone's 2-megapixel camera is housed on the rear of the phone and there's also an LED flash. A USB data port is provided, as is an infrared data port. Plus, there's a miniSD slot for storing photos, video, and other media. A 128 MB card is included with the phone. Calling Features The 6270's 9 MB of built-in memory can hold all your important contacts. A call list remembers your most recent missed, received and dialed calls, and in addition to a vibrating alert, the phone supports 64-chord polyphonic ringtones. If you're into custom ringtones, the 6270 has you covered; it supports ringtones in a dizzying array of formats, including MP3, MP4, AAC, AMR, WB-AMR (TrueTones), and MIDI. Meanwhile, a speakerphone lets you talk hands-free while you're doing other things, and picture caller ID lets you assign a photo to specific callers. Similarly, a ringer ID lets you assign ringtones to callers. Voice dialing is also supported. The phone's Bluetooth wireless technology lets talk freely on a wireless headset or sync up seamlessly with your PC and other compatible Bluetooth devices. Messaging, Internet, and Tools The 6270 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging. Support is built in for sending and receiving text, video, graphics and sound via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. A built-in email client supports POP3, IMAP4, and SMTP, as well as email attachments. There's an included Wireless Village IM client, too. Getting on the Internet is easy with the 6270, as well. It supports the GPRS protocol, as well as the new, high speed EDGE data protocol. When used with your carrier's data service and the phone's USB or Bluetooth data capability, the phone can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. There's also a built-in browser for downloads and mobile Web browsing. The browser also supports full HTML Web sites. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile text messaging users. A number of handy productivity tools are bundled with the 6270 including a voice memo recorder, an alarm clock, a calculator with currency converter, a calendar, and a to-do list. And because the phone supports the SyncML synchronization standard, you can easily sync your PC-based contacts. Imaging and Entertainment The 6270's built-in 2-megapixel camera captures stills and video to the phone's internal memory, or to a miniSD memory card. Pictures are designed to be taken in landscape mode, allowing you to take full advantage of the 6270's massive screen real estate. Videos are captured in 3GPP format. Into music? You're in luck with the 6270. Store your favorite MP3, M4A, or AAC -based music on the 6270 and listen whenever the feeling strikes you on the built-in stereo speakers. When you want to jam out in private you can hook up a stereo headset. Lastly, if you want to dress up the 6270, picture effects, custom screensavers, backgrounds, and themes can be set to fit your personality. Java support is built into the 6270, making it a powerful gaming companion. You can also use the handset's USB data connection to load more games and files onto the phone. Vital Statistics The Nokia 6270 weighs 3.49 ounces and measures 4.09 x 1.97 x 0.91 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5 hours of digital talk time, and up to 200 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty. Product Description Hidden beneath its luxurious, modern design and stylishly-polished metal surfaces combined with satin, the Nokia 6270 phone packs equally impressive features supported through the new Series 40 user interface. Use Active Standby to conveniently access your email, favourite applications, calendar entries or music directly from the idle screen of your phone.
