Detailed Description
During molten aluminium processes and heating, in order to continuously measure the temperature of molten metals, a thermocouple or other temperature sensing device is immersed in the molten metal. Since molten metal is highly corrosive, it is necessary to protect the sensor by enclosing it in a corrosion resistant housing that will withstand the temperature encountered. Corundum and various refractory ceramic materials have been found acceptable for such housings, but they are fragile and therefore easily broken upon contact with another object. The high carbon and medium chromium cast iron tubes enclosed with a refractory ceramic coating is directed toward a solution of this problem. The thermocouple is enclosed with a refractory ceramic to protect it from the corrosive action of molten aluminum in the holding furnace and other positions. When using other tools to remove dross of the aluminum into the furnace such as cars or ladles , it is very likely to hit the thermocouple housing. Since the ceramic tube is quite fragile, it is easily broken when mounted rigidly.The cast iron tubes are best solution at present. Specification: OD 42mm, ID 19mm. Or according to the user request. Length from 300mm to 2800mm. Material: high carbon and medium chromium cast iron enclosed with refractory ceramic coating. Colour: red or black or colourless if without coating. Pipe thread:according to the user's request. Coating thickness: 0.4-0.6mm. Characteristic: √High strength and long service life for corrosion resistance or other mechanical impact. √No contamination and non-wetting for the molten aluminium √The working temperature up to 1000℃. √Widely used in melting and holding furnace, crucible, purification furnace etc.
