Detailed Description
You are looking at a brand new Crafter GAE648 in natural gloss finish.
The Crafter range of guitars has been sold regularly in shops throughout the world for a number of years, and have reached a level where they are consistently great value and great quality. This model is another example of their exceptional range and value.
The GAE648 is loaded with pro features.
Firstly, it has a hand selected, aged, Solid Sitka Spruce top, meaning that, with time and playing, the tone will mature and become richer and warmer.
Secondly, the back and sides are Solid South American Rosewood, giving a warm focussed response which will also mature with time. The grain on this wood is also very attractive - just look at the pictures. The rear has a split inlay, and is "bookmatched". This is only usually seen on top price guitars, as it is an expensive craft, especially using Rosewood.
Thirdly, the front, rear, and soundhole feature tasteful Abalone and Tortoiseshell inlays.
On top of these features, the guitar has an L.R. Baggs pickup and preamp with an end-pin jack socket. The pre-amp has Bass, Middle, Treble and Scoop control sliders, plus Phase, Mute, Volume, and Battery indicator controls.
The neck is slightly wider than similar guitars, being 1.75" at the nut. This makes the guitar more comfortable for fingerpickers, and those with bigger fingers. Don't be put off by this extra width. It is still much more narrow than the width of a Classical guitar.
Lastly, as with all Crafters, the guitar features a dual-action truss rod.
Just like the ones fitted to USA Fender guitars, this ensures easy, accurate action setting.
