The navigation wheel goes mobile
The keyboard is circular instead of square, with easy, intuitive operation thanks to Bang & Olufsen’s thumb-controlled wheel. The keypad is arranged around the navigation wheel, and the experience of using Serene is both logical and intuitive. The extra large display gives you ample space to write and read text messages.
A daily joy to hold
Opening and closing Serene involves a gentle move with your finger, which triggers a built-in motor that opens the shell slowly and gracefully. The display and microphone are placed in the lower shell in a landscape orientation and the circular keyboard and loudspeaker is placed in the upper shell. We believe it makes more sense that way. When the phone sits on a table, the display rotates 180° to facilitate text input.
Eye-catching
Serene consists of two equal parts that are tied together by a beautifully crafted aluminium hinge. Specially composed, harmonious ringing tones catch your attention in just the right way, whether in quiet or noisy situations. The colours, fonts, screen format and size have been chosen with logical operation in mind.
The charger is as elegant as the telephone itself and also functions as a docking station, where Serene can interact with your cordless Bang & Olufsen telephone system. When placed in the docking station, Serene will open up automatically when an incoming call or text message is received. If the call is not answered, it gently closes again.
Ear-pleasing
With perhaps the best sound quality in the mobile telephone market, Serene offers excellent speech recognition. We placed the speakers behind the keypad, to ensure that the sound reaches your ear as freely as possible. Serene also has a small built-in camera, with the lens discreetly integrated along the side of the telephone. The phone can be synchronized with your PC’s Microsoft Outlook via built-in Bluetooth functions.
