The AmoyDx K-ras Mutation Test Kit is a superior sensitive and selective assay for the detection of the most common somatic mutations in the K-ras gene. The K-ras gene mutation status of colorectal cancer patients is relevant to the drug resistance of the targeted medicines such as tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Patients with wild-type K-ras gene could benefit from the Erbitux (Cetuximab) or Vectibix (Panitumumab), whereas, the patients with mutant K-ras gene could not receive good treatment effects. The European Drug Administration Organization and US FDA approved the employment of K-ras gene mutation test prior to the usage of targeted medicine Erbituxand and Vectibix in the treatment of colorectal cancer.
