Quarter Wave Coaxial Surge Protector utilized 1/4 wave length shorting stub working as the band pass filter. The frequency range can be changed by modifying mechanical dimensions. As we learnt from frequency spectrum, lightening wave is in low frequency (from hundreds KHz to Megahertz).When low frequency signals input, the center contact and the outer contact will be short-circuited by the shorting stub then the lightening current can be diverted to the ground, therefore the high frequency signals transmission will not be interfered and equipment and instruments can work normally.
The frequency range can be very wide and also in certain band. Featuring high power, it has a long service life. (Some models were developed with CITEL)
