The ink level of EPSON intelligent cartridge is accurately recorded and controlled by the chip IC, when used up, the ink level is zero. It cannot be reused even after the empty ink cartridge is refilled, and this results in high expense. The QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System can reset & refill the chip IC on the Epson intelligent ink cartridges, and do not change the property of the cartridge. Then the empty cartridge can be reused after the ink is refilled. With its versatility, QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System can automatically identify the type of ink cartridge, and then reset the chip on the cartridge into a full mode. QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System is a Universal Chip Resetter for all Epson printers,namely for both Epson Desktop and Epson large-format printers.. Instruction procedures: Please note that there are two parts need to be resetted: one is the ink cartridge, the other is the maintenance box. Their resetting methods are the same. Figure 3 shows the resetting for chip on the maintenance box. Figure 4 shows the resetting process for chip on cartridges for large-format printers. 1. Align the cartridge to the correct touch on the reset unit so that the chip contacts and the pins on the QE388-2 resetter meet. 2. Keep the two units in the firm contact. If the red light is blanking, it shows the two units contact well. 3. if the red light turns to green, it show the reset operation is successful. 4. if the red light stays on lighting, not flash, it also indicate reset successfully. 5. Cartridge is now ready for refilling with ink. Figure 3 Figure 4 Troubleshooting: a) After the red LED flash, it stays on and does not turn green 1. The pins on the QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System are not in good contact with the chip on the cartridge. The contact may be dirty or oily. 2. If the ink cartridge is not an original Epson brand ink cartridge, the chip may be not compatible with the QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System. 3. If the ink cartridge is an original Epson brand ink cartridge, the chip may be burned out or Epson may have changed the chip design. But the QE388-2 Ink Level Resetting System still can work with this kind of ink cartridge to reset and fulfill the level, only the green light would not shine. b) The printing effect is not good. 1. The quality of the ink you are using may be inferior. We recommend using inks that are specifically matched to Epson original colors and other characteristics. (Especially if you are printing digital photographs.) 2. Air bubbles entrapped in ink. To avoid this, inject the ink very slowly. Also, allow the cartridge to reset for 24 hours with the ink exit nozzles facing down before using. Advantages︰ This product gets CE/FCC certification.
