Detailed Description
Cemented carbide is a class of material widely used in drawing dies, because of their superior strength, toughness, and wear resistance. It has very high compressive strength and hence can take high pressure. Tungsten carbide drawing dies are used in wire drawing industries for drawing of different materials like Mild Steel (M.S), High Carbon (H.C), Stainless Steel (S.S), Brass, Aluminum, etc. All major wire producers use tungsten carbide drawing dies. We can supply different dies, such as drawing die, punching die, extrusion die, cold heading die, which are fully finished or rough cored - cased or uncased, to meet client’s exact requirements. Wire Drawing Dies The art or process of wire drawing like the name implies is to draw a wire of a bigger diameter through a hole with smaller diameter hereby reducing the diameter through plastic deformation while the volume remains the same. In more technical terms it is an operation to produce wire of various sizes within certain specific tolerances. The process involves reducing the diameter of rods or wires by passing them through a series of tungsten carbide drawing dies with each successive die having smaller bore diameter than the one preceding it. The final wire size is reached as the wire passes through the last die in the series. Tube Drawing Dies Tube-drawing dies in round, hex, square and any other special shapes are used for the drawing operation of tubes of various materials. We also make mandrels of various shapes that are used to maintain the inner diameter of the tube. Bar Drawing Dies Bar drawing dies in round, hex, square and any other special shapes are used for drawing of bright bars of various materials like Mild Steel,Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper etc. Basic principals Wire defined as a round string of metal dates back to early civilization 3000 B.C or earlier. The process of producing a wire by drawing a round piece of metal through a drawing die hereby reducing its diameter dates back to around 1300 A.D.
