Melting Point and solubility:mp231-232℃. Soluble in alcohol，acetic ester and pyridine, insoluble in ether, benzene, chloroform and acetone.
Brief:yellow powder.
Pharmacology: therapeutic action on erectile dysfunction, protective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injured neurons, decreasing cell apoptosis, preventing intracellular calcium concentration elevation, enhancing anti-oxidant capacity, treating angina and increasing coronal-vein blood flux. Icariin shows effects on cardiovascular system, circulatory system, immune system, genital system and bone marrow system.
