In general each concrete cooling system for dam construction and for mass concrete consists of the following components: - Ice Making system - Water Chilling Plant for the total amount of mixing water - Cold Water Tank with Pumping Station - Automatic Ice Storage System - Ice Delivery System - Ice Weighing system - Aggregate Cooling System - Post-Cooling of the concrete Of course, there are always different options available for each component. Ice Making System Focusun has developed and manufactured various flake and plate ice machines suitable for your different options. Features -Containerized ice plant with daily capacity from 3 MT to 60 MT -Equipped with high quality auto ice storage, ice delivery and ice weighing system -Containerized cold or ice water plants -Integrated modular design for easy installation, operation and maintenance -Fully automatic PLC system for visual display and controls Water Chilling plant Our latest containerized chillers are specially designed for cooling the mixing water for batching plants from 45°C down to less than 0.5°C. Using evaporative condensers and a 4-stage cooling system, these new containerized chillers are superior to any common water chiller available in the world. Cold water tank Each water chilling system requires a well insulated cold water tank. The size depends on the non-production period of the batching plant. There are 3 different possibilities for installing such a tank: 1.The cold water tank is made of concrete and insulated locally – any size possible. 2.The cold water tank is made of steel, installed and insulated inside a 20-ft or 40-ft. Container 3. The cold water tank is made of steel, installed and insulated inside a steel frame In all three cases it is recommendable to install the water chiller on top of the tank for saving space and reducing installation costs. Auto Ice Storage system Focusun offers two different type auto ice storages: rake-type and crawler-type. 1. They are both mobile and automatic ice storages with refrigeration system. 2. Specially-designed double insulation layers make the inside cold air circulate unblockedly and keep temperature always around below 10℃ Ice Delivery System From the ice storage the flake ice has to be transported to the mixer of the batching plant. Again several options are possible: Option 1: Air blowing system This system is ideal for transporting ice over longer distances or for multi-icing stations. Basically, it consists of an air-lock rotary valve and a high-volume and low pressure blower, which transports the ice pneumatically through a pipe line (4”to 6”) to a cyclone receiver above the mixer (after being weighed) or above an intermediate holding hopper (day tank) from where the ice is transported to a weigher above the mixer. Option 2: Screw conveying system The screw conveying system is more economical for short distance ice transport or for a maximum of two icing stations. KTI provides hot dipped galvanized screw conveyors in open-trough and in tube execution. However, the maximum length of each screw conveyor should not exceed 18 m. Ice Weighing System Again there are two possible ways or locations for the ice to be weighed. Option 1: Discharge screw conveyor with load cells This ice weighing screw conveyor is used to feed the ice through the rotary air-lock valve into the high velocity air stream from the air blower after having weighed the ice. Sizes from 300 kg to 1000 kg are available. Option 2: Weighing hopper with load cells and pneumatically-operated discharge gate The ice weighing hopper discharges the ice by gravity, after being weighed, either into the skip, or on to a belt conveyor carrying the weighed aggregates, or directly into the mixer. This is actually the fastest and most reliable way of adding ice to the mixer. These ice weighing hoppers are available from 250 to 1200 kg holding capacity and have a special design eliminating the possibility of the ice clogging during the discharge.
