Hydrolyzed polymaleic anhydride (HPMA) 【CAS】26099-09-02 Properties: The product, an organic aliphatic acid polymeride, has its molecular weight in the range of 400—800. It is easily soluble in water, and possesses high chemical and thermal stability. Since its dissociation temperature is above 330℃, the product exhibits obvious threshold effects even under high temperature <350℃ and high pH value. It shows good scaling-prevention capability against carbonate and phosphate containing scales, and the effective time can be as long as 100 hours. This product can be used together with the dewatering demulsifiers for crude oil. Furthermore, the products of the degradation are harmless to water lives as well as people and livestock. Usage: This product is usually used in systems like circulated water-cooling, oilfield water-injection, crude oil dewatering and furnace internal treatment of low-pressure boilers. It has good scaling-prevention and descaling capability, with a scaling prevention rate of 98%. When it is used with 1-2㎎/L of zinc salts, it can effectively inhibit corrosion of carbon steel. The product can also be used as bleaching agent in textile industry to reduce the dust content in products.
