Astaxanthin has been called the “king of carotenoids” because it is the most powerful of this class of antioxidants, with 10 times the antioxidant activity of other carotenoids. Supplementation with this powerful carotenoid might offers immune, cardiovascular, and central nervous system benefits. Prevention with astaxanthin in polluted areas may also benefit eye health, brain health, and reduce inflammation.
