Property: Technical grade is Colorless crystals. S.g./density is 1.281, M.p is 51-52C, B.p is 86C/1.3Pa, F.p is 107C, V.p is 1.85 x 10-6Pa/20C. Soluble in methanol and cyclohexane. Slightly soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons, diethyl ether, carbon tetrachloride, hexane and xylene. Very soluble in chloroform, benzene, toluene, alcohols, esters, ketones, methylene chloride, acetone and ethanol, in water 25000 ppm / 21C.
Uses: Dimethoate is a Cholinesterase inhibitor with contact and stomach action. It is widely used to protect citrus, cotton, grape, olive, potato, soybean, tobacco, vegetable to kill mites, aphids, etc. Flies in livestock shed can be controlled by the application of dimethoate.
