Active ingredient: Gingerols Specification: 5% Gingerols Introduction: Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has long been a favorite of herbalist and gourmets alike. It is especially loved in the Far East, where it has been used by Chinese for over 2000 years to treat stomachaches and nausea. The primary use of ginger as an herbal remedy is to help alleviate nausea and vomiting. The mechanism of action is due to local gastrointestinal actions. Anti-Inflammatory Effects: The anti-inflammatory effect of Ginger is thought to be due to inhibition of cyclooxygenase and 5-lipoxygenase, results in reduced leukotriene and prostaglandin synthesis. Anti-biotic Effects: Gingerol, shogaol and zingerone have been shown to inhibit strongly the growth of Salmonella typhi, Vibrio cholerae, and Tricophyton violaceum, while aqueous extracts at 2.5, 5, and 25 percent concentration are effective against Trichomonas vaginalis.
