In Yunnan province, Batik crafts are popular among the Miao nationality. They have exquisite textile skills that are passed on from generation to generation. The batiks that they made have been called “tiedibu” because the clothes are delicate, soft, meticulous and durable with high quality. In the past, there were no special workshops and it used to be homemade. With time went by, every family learned from each other, thus their Batik crafts had their own national style, passions of life, delicate drawing miraculous imagination and highly skilled. Yunnan Batik crafts take the local mountains and scenery as the materials for composition, such as peacocks elephants, camellia, azalea, Stone Forest, and other local natural scenic spots and creations. Now, the skills of Batik crafts have been improved in its artistic expressive force, increasing the layers and colors of the patterns, making it more colorful and more attractive.
