The gasoline which mixed dimethyl carbonate has more obvious advantages:
It is useful for the environment protection. It will improve the exhaust effect of THC and NOX and increase the decontamination efficiency of CO and THC which can be reached over 90%. It also can increase the octane rating of gasoline, 4.7% DMC mixed, the Octane rating of Gasoline will increase 3%~6%, and there won’t be any change if more DMC be mixed in gasoline .

The diesel which mixed dimethyl carbonate has more obvious advantages:
The deliquescent effect for DMC and diesel is good. It is benefit for environment; 15% DMC mixed in diesel, the NOX exhaust standard is close to Europe II standard limit and the exhaust index of HC and CO is far below Europe III standard limit. It can also improve the performance of engine and the thermal efficiency of charge characteristic, also lower energy consumption.
