Wax dyeing is the ancient technique of resist agent, and won its reputations for using bee wax as the resist agent, which dates back to 2,000 years ago. The patterns of wax dyeing are delicate that mainly go with flowers and forests, geometrical figures mixed with several worms, fish, birds and worms. The chaps on the work after cooling can form various patterns, named “iced pattern”, it could have varied “iced patterns” after the same design being made by wax dyeing. So the “iced pattern” is the unique character of wax dyeing and reputed as the “soul” of wax dyeing. It is widely known in the southwestern part of minority group of China, and of which the wax dyeing products in Guizhou are the most famous.
