Description : The dried exudation from cultivated trees of Dipterocarpaceae family, mainly those of Shorea and Hopea genus. The tree family is found predominantly in West Sumatra, Indonesia. This natural resin occurs as irregular white to yellow or brownish tears, fragments or powder, sometimes admixed with fragments of bark; refined grades are white to yellowish and are free of fragments of ligneous matter; practically odourless, The traded quality is graded and determined mainly by the lump's size, the purity and the color.
