Jinshanling Great Wall, which lies within luanping country, Heibei province, 130km away from Beijing, used to be under the jurisdiction of Gubeilou, the important doorway in the northeast defense line of the Ming Dynasty. It is very precipitous, so you had better wear a pair of non-silp shoes. To the east of the Jinshanling stretch of the Great Wall, there lays the quiet and remote Simatai section.
Hiking from JinshanlingGreat Wall for 2 hours, you will get to Simatai Great Wall for another 2 hours.
NOTE: Simatai part is temporarily closed for renovation, so we will have spend much in Jinshanling.
Its ruinous appearance not only gives it an air of authenticity but also carved it a reputation of being the most beautiful section of the Great Wall. the wall at Simatai still kept its normal status after experienced hundreds of years.
