The art of decorating nails can be traced back to the Indian people who embellished nails with henna. Over time, nail art techniques have evolved to this era when it has gone digital with the aid of machines. The digital nail art machines have taken the beauty industry by storm and gained wide acceptance making it easier for nail technicians to design and apply various arts to clients. As much as beauticians are capable of creating sophisticated masterpieces by the free-hand technique using brushes or stencil, the new and digitized method is quick, clean, accurate and easier to use. First of all, the fingernails cleaned and prepared for painting just like in a normal manicure; a base acrylic coating is applied and allowed to dry; a special polish meant to enable the nail design to adhere properly is then applied. The nails are then placed in a cradle under the machine which applies the desired design. Most machines have an inbuilt range of nail art designs. However, the client can draw their own preferred motif which is scanned into the machine.
