N-Pentane
Pentane is a naturally occurring compound found in crude oil and natural gas condensate. Pentane refers to a molecule that has five carbon atoms with only hydrogenatoms bonded to the carbons.
Main application: It is used as blowing (foaming) agent during the manufacture of polystyrene and polyurethane foams. Pentanes are also used as solvents in aerosol cosmetics, aerosol paints and car care products.
