SpermFunc® Acrosin Kit for the Quantitative Test of Spermatozoan Acrosin Activity (Solid Phase BAPNA Method) Solid Phase BAPNA method (BAPNA):
Fix the sperm to the surface of PTFE by high polymer; Control functional fluid and contact and separation of sperm on the surface of PTFE using tailor-made reaction device to detect the spermatozoan acrosin and terminate the reaction. To detect the activity of arginine amidase which has solide to capture sperm can reflect all the acrosin activity. BAPNA has resolved by arginine amidase to yellow nitroxyl aniline; Detect its output to reckon the activity.
Features:
1. Require neither stopping solution nor sample comparison and it guarantees large quantities of samples to be detected at the same time through simple steps as "rolling-over".
2. The spectrophotometer is not required.
3. The acrosin quality control substance is available (the product name is "quality control substance for multi items of seminal plasma", which should be ordered separately)
4. CE approved
Applications in clinic:
Acrosin is the vital proteolytic enzymes during the fertilization, locating between acrosome inner membrane and equatorial membrane. After the binding of the sperm and oocyte, acrosome reaction occurs on sperm, then the outer acrosomal membrane breaks, with the release of acrosin. Acrosin can penetrate across coronaradiata around oocyte and across zona pellucida and consequently facilitates fertilization. Reduction of acrosin activities may impact the ability of sperms' penetration of zona, which leads to the failure of fertilization. Besides, the quality of sperms, severe infection of the reproductive system possibly results in the reduction of acrosin activity.
